For Prospective Members

Dear Prospective NHS Member,

We would like to congratulate you for achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or above during your high school years.  In response to your achievement, the Alta High School National Honor Society Faculty Council would like to invite you to apply for membership in the Alta High School Chapter of the National Honor Society.  This is an awesome achievement and we are very proud of you.

The National Honor Society is an organization founded to recognize and promote superior achievement in the areas of scholarship, leadership, citizenship, service, and character.  Attached you will find a Student Application and Parent/Student Agreement to complete. Details are imperative and provide a clearer picture of you as a student.  For a student to be considered for membership in NHS, this questionnaire needs to be filled out completely. Be careful to follow all directions. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Spears (janna.spears@canyonsdistrict.org) or Ms. Graff (camille.graff@canyonsdistrict,org).

Students are chosen for membership in NHS based on the information you provide in this application, academic achievement, and input from the staff of Alta High School.   It is vitally important that you include as many details about yourself as possible on this questionnaire.  The National Honor Society Faculty Council will review all information. This information will provide insight to help them with their final decision as to who will be inducted when we return to school in the fall.  Students pick up a paper copy from Mrs. Spears, Room 1114 and then submit them to Mrs. Spears or Ms. Graff.  All completed packets must to be turned in by 2:55 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28, 2021.  Membership packets will NOT be accepted after this deadline.

Again, congratulations!  We sincerely hope you will consider membership in the Alta High School Chapter of the National Honor Society.  Becoming a member of the NHS is a prestigious honor, one that will last you a lifetime.

Sincerely,

Dr. Brian McGill – Principal
